Act I, Scene 3

Summary

This is a very brief scene in which Thaliard, the assassin sent by Antiochus, arrives in Tyre looking for Pericles. Helicanus greets him and mentions that the Prince is away. Thaliard is relieved not to have to carry out his unpleasant task. He leaves Tyre.

Notes

This scene doesn't serve much purpose in the play, other than to advance the plot and perhaps indicate that Thaliard is reluctant to do his master's bidding, most probably because he knows it is not a noble task.
