2.5 Points to Remember

The British were the last to establish colonies in the New World. 13 colonies were set up which later came under the British crown. The British began to colonize for various religions and economic reasons. To pay monetary debts, the crown gave charters to colonies in the New World. Secondly, the Puritans could not stay in Britain after the fall of the Protectorate under Oliver Cromwell.
