LIST OF CHARACTERS

Major

Sinclair

The narrator of the novel. He suffers a lot mentally and goes through confusion. He finds solace from certain people like Max Demian and Pistorius and Fran Eva. His development consists of a journey into the inner recesses of his mind.

Max Demian

The protagonist of the novel. He helps Sinclair when the later is terrorized by Kromer. He reappears towards the end of the novel. The important message he gives to Sinclair is to look within himself to find solutions.


Pistorius

An organist who plays the music of Bach and Reger. He becomes friendly to Sinclair and talks about philosophy, religion and ritual.

Fran Eva

The mother of Max Demian. She is beautiful, affectionate, attractive and motherly. Sinclair is attracted to her.
