1688 - The Glorious Revolution

1689 - Bills of Rights.

1701 - Act of Settlement.

1832 - The parliament passed the Reform Act.

1838 - The Peoples’ Charter


1867 - Benjamin Disraeli introduced the Representation of People Act.

1884 - Representation of People Act.

1911 - Parliament Act.

1918 - Representation of People Act granted franchise to all men above twenty-one and all women above thirty.

1928 - Representation of People Act was passed which allowed all women above the age of twenty-one the right to vote.
