PART III : INTRODUCTION TO MATHEMATICAL REASONING

3.1 What Kind of Questions To Expect ?

The three sections in this part of SAT I contain three different kinds of questions :

  • Standard Multiple Choice Questions
  • Quantitative Comparisons
  • Hand-calculation Response Questions

This is how the questions are divided :

The first math section has 25 Standard Multiple Choice Questions.

The second math section has 15 Quantitative Comparison Questions and 10 Student-Produced Response Questions (Grid - in).

The third math section has 10 Standard Multiple Choice Questions.

For each test, questions become increasingly more difficult as you proceed through the test. In other words, the first few questions are always easier to solve than the last few questions.

Given below are examples of the sort of questions that you can expect in the test.
