  1. During the Second World War, fighter pilots used direct visual perception to look out for enemies in the sky. Exercises to develop their neck muscles were an important part of their training as they had to frequently turn their heads to look to their rear. Today, pilots do not need to look to the rear because of the numerous electronic gadgets available. The ability of the electronic gadgets to detect slight changes is more accurate and significant than the keenness of the pilot’s long-distance vision and their developed muscles.

The above premises supports which among the following statements?
    (A) Human pilots will soon become superfluous as the dependence on sophisticated electronic gadgets is increasing.
    (B) As a result of the great speed with which modern aircrafts move today, visual
keenness is of little help in air combat today.
    (C) Fitness with reference to military service should always be defined in terms of the demands combat situations place on combatants.
    (D) If the arduous physical training exercises are not continued the performance of pilots will necessarily decline.
    (E) Adaptability to the demands of future combat situations will be guaranteed by frequent revisions of military training programs.
