3) In trigonometry there are three systems for the measurement of angles.

(I) Sexagesimal system : In this system a right angle is divided and sub-divided into small parts as given below.


(II) The Centisimal System : In this system a right angle is divided and sub-divided as below :

1 rt. angle = 100 grades (i.e. 1000)
1 grade = 100 minutes (i.e. 100')
1 minute = 100 seconds (i.e. 100'')

Note : The minutes and seconds of both systems are distinct from each other.
