Solution

Example 8 The displacement (x) along the x-axis from the centre, at the end of a bob of a pendulum is given by x = A sin 2pt. Find 'A' if d = 20 and t = 3.25.

Solution

x = A sin 2 p t = A sin (2 p . 3.25)

\ 20 = A sin (20.42)    \ 20 = A. (1)

\ A = 20 (calculated in radian mode of calculator).
