1893 - The Social Democratic Party is formed.

1903 - The party splits into the Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks.

1905 - The Russo-Japanese War.

The Czarist troops fire upon a peaceful demonstration led by Father Gapon in St. Petersberg.

1916 - The monk Rasputin is killed by the nobles.

Feb 1917 - Revolution Lead to the defeat of Czarism and the establishment of a Republic.

Feb 28, 1917 - The czarist ministers are arrested.

Mar 1, 1917 - Mutiny of the troops.

Mar 2, 1917 - Czar Nicholas II forced to abdicate.

Mar 3, 1917 - A Provisional coalition government under the Premiership of George Lvov comes into existence.

Mar 1917 - First all Russian Congress announced.

July 1917 - An armed demonstration held against the Provisional Government at Petrograd.

Oct 1917 - Revolution leads to the establishment of the dictatorship of the laboring class.


Oct 2, 1917 - The Bolsheviks become the majority party.

Oct 25 1917 - The Red guards attack the Winter Palace.

July 10 1918 - A constitution is published and adopted.

July 16 1918 - Czar Nicholas and his family shot dead.

1921 - Lenin introduces the New Economic Policy.

1922 - The Union Of Soviet Socialist Republic is created.

1924 - Lenin dies. There is power struggle between Stalin and Trotsky. Stalin wins.

1928 - First five-year plan.

1933 - Second five-year plan.

1936 - Stalin established a new constitution in USSR.

1938 - Third five-year plan.
