Note :

(i) Lens maker's formula is valid for concave lens, convexo-concave lens and plano-convex or plano- concave lens as well.


(iv) Unlike mirrors where f = r/2, there is no unique relation between f and R of a lens; for, even if R1 = R2 i.e. bi-convex or bi-concave lens

Likewise for biconcave lens of R.I. 1.5 only, f = - R. (R is numerical i.e. positive value only)
