Example 1

Solve the right triangle if Ð B = 220 and b = 16 (see fig 8)

Solution :

Ð C = 900 , Ð B = 220 \ Ð C = 900 - 220 = 680


Example 2

In triangle PQR, p = 40, q = 9, Ð R = 90. Solve triangle PQR.

Solution :

By Pythagoras theorem, r2 = p2 + q2
